Cahir
castle, an imposing 13th century structure stands sentinel in the
centre of the market town of Cahir. Built by the de Birminghams.
Oliver Cromwell laid seige to the castle in 1650. It has been
restored to its original condition. There is an audio/visual show
in the courtyard cottage.
Open all year. In winter 9.30am to 4.30pm. In summer 9am to 7.30pm.
